Revolutionary, Game-changing procedure
Because the field of cosmetic surgery is constantly evolving, finding an effective and minimally-invasive treatment for skin laxity can sometimes prove to be overwhelming – until now. Renuvion Cosmetic Technology is a revolutionary, game-changing procedure that tightens and rejuvenates loose skin without the need for invasive surgery or extended downtime. No other minimally-invasive technology has offered cosmetic surgeons the ability to tighten the skin to this degree with tiny incisions, little or no scarring and minimal downtime.
What is Renuvion Cosmetic Technology?
Renuvion is a state-of-the-art, minimally invasive technology that is FDA-approved for cutting, coagulating and ablating soft tissue during open and laparoscopic surgical procedures. Renuvion uses helium gas, which is very stable and rapidly converts to plasma at a lower temperature. The helium gas is energized by radiofrequency (RF) waves to create a powerful, precise stream of cool plasma. During the ionization process, only a small amount (less than 0.1%) of helium gas is converted to plasma, while the remaining helium gas (over 99.9%) flows over the treatment area, with the plasma beam generating enough heat to contract the skin while the excess helium gas simultaneously cools the treatment area.
The precision of the cool plasma stream allows an area to be treated without damaging nearby tissue. In addition, because helium works effectively at a lower temperature – 100 degrees – it is a safe and effective skin tightening modality that doesn’t overheat the treatment area. Other methods that use laser, ultrasound or radio-frequency waves are not as precise as Renuvion and use temperatures between 300 and 600 degrees to treat the skin. This lack of precision and temperature regulation can damage surrounding tissue and overheat the treatment area.
Why choose Renuvion?
► Minimal scarring, if any
► Very little downtime
► FDA approved
► Stimulates the production of collagen
► Less chance for infections
► It is more precise than other procedures
► It reduces the risk of damage to surrounding tissue
► It is accompanied by less pain compared to other procedures
How Does Renuvion Work?
The Renuvion handheld device consists of a long, thin metal cannula, or tube, that is inserted under the skin through small, strategically placed incisions (if performed alone) or inserted through existing incisions (if performed along with other procedures). RF waves energize a stream of helium, creating a precise and powerful surge of cool plasma that flows out of the tip of the device. As the device is moved back and forth across the treatment area, the cool plasma heats the underside of the skin, causing the skin to contract while simultaneously stimulating collagen production.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?
Dr. Rubbani will meet with you before the procedure to review the treatment plan and answer any questions you may have. Local or oral anesthesia will be administered based on your comfort level and whether or not you are undergoing other procedures concurrently. The more invasive procedures will be performed first so that Dr. Rubbani can utilize existing incisions to insert the Renuvion device underneath the skin. She will move the handheld device back and forth across the treatment area, instantly tightening the skin.
Because results are visible in real time, Dr. Rubbani can adjust the treatment accordingly to contour specific areas and achieve optimal results. Depending on the size of the treatment area, Renuvion can take 30 minutes or less to complete, and you can go home the day of your procedure. The amount of downtime will depend on the procedures you had performed in conjunction with Renuvion, and you may need to wear a compression garment to reduce swelling and promote healing. However, because Renuvion is minimally invasive, it will not increase your recovery time from other procedures.
How many treatments of Renuvion are needed?
For most patients, Renuvion is a single treatment procedure and results will be visible soon after the Renuvion procedure. The skin will continue to tighten over the months following the treatment as the skin remodels and produces new collagen. There are different types of Renuvion for different areas of the body. These are as follows:
Renuvion for the Face
This uses cols plasma energy on the underside of the skin to tighten and rejuvenate anywhere on the face instantly.
Renuvion for the Body
This uses sub dermal cold plasma energy to instantly tighten and rejuvenate anywhere on the body.
Renuvion for the Skin
This utilizes cold plasma energy to essentially turn back the hand of time and reduce signs of aging dramatically.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Healthy men and women who are frustrated with loose skin are good candidates for Renuvion. It is an excellent choice for patients who don’t want an invasive surgery or the accompanying scarring and downtime. Dr. Rubbani most often utilizes Renuvion in conjunction with other procedures, such as liposuction or a neck lift, but it can also be performed as a stand-alone procedure, to provide patients extraordinary skin-tightening results on the following areas of the body:
INNER AND OUTER THIGHS
FLANKS OR SIDES
LEGS, KNEES AND CALVES
RENUVION AS SKIN RESURFACER
We all know the keys to healthy, beautiful skin: lots of sleep, sunscreen, and a healthy diet. But what if the hands of time are too powerful? Aging and environmental stressors can all add up over the years, turning your once flawless complexion into duller, rougher, and older looking skin.
Sometimes, you need the very best in science to achieve that youthful, glowing skin. Tucson Cosmetics is proud to provide the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing system, a state-of-the-art device that’s the next progression in non-surgical skin resurfacing. Using plasma technology, the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing can remove the damaged, older layers of skin with remarkable precision to reveal the young, healthy skin underneath.
The Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing can treat a wide range of skin conditions: wrinkles, sun damage, and discoloration – and it can do it with fewer treatments and minimal downtime. Best of all, the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing can stimulate natural collagen production, so patients with sagging skin can enjoy non-surgical skin tightening.
Tucson Cosmetics is one of the very first practices nationwide to offer the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing procedure. The Renuvion/J-Plasma device’s incredibly precise mechanism allows for a greater amount of control, making it optimal for treating delicate areas (like the ones around the eyes and lips) without harming the skin. With Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing, our patients can have a treatment that’s light years ahead of what a laser system can provide.
What are the benefits of Renuvion/J-Plasma Skin Resurfacing?
Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing is a remarkable treatment for facial rejuvenation. From superficial blemishes on the skin to tougher signs of aging like sagging skin, the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing system can address them all. Renuvion/J-Plasma can treat:
► Fine lines and wrinkles
► Smoker’s lines (perioral rhytids)
► Wrinkles around the eyes
► Sagging skin
► Sun Spots
► Rough, uneven skin
Plasma technology allows the Renuvion/J-Plasma device to ablate the skin at a fraction of the temperature of laser; that means it can resurface skin at much deeper depths than a traditional system. And while other laser systems can’t treat the delicate areas around the eyes and mouth, the Renuvion/J-Plasma device is commonly used to reduce wrinkles like crow’s feet and “smoker’s lines.”
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing procedure is so powerful that it only needs one treatment to effectively treat certain conditions. After one session, many patients notice a dramatic improvement and naturally smoother, tighter, and younger looking skin. And in many cases, Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing results last for a very long time.
How Is the Renuvion/J-Plasma system Performed?
The Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing treatment is performed comfortably under local anesthesia. An oral sedative is provided to start the treatment, and nerve blocks are placed prior to the procedure.
During the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing procedure, Dr. Rubbani will use the device to treat a specific area so that the narrow plasma beam can ablate the outer skin layer (also known as the epidermis.) Once the whole face has been treated, the ablated epidermal layer may be wiped away. Certain patients may receive a second pass, which treats the dermis underneath the epidermis, depending upon the severity of their wrinkles. Patients with less severe wrinkles have the dermal layer left intact for quicker healing.
Who’s the Ideal Candidate for Renuvion/J-Plasma Skin Resurfacing?
The ideal candidate for Renuvion/J-Plasma is a patient with fair skin, moderate signs of aging, and some relaxation on the face.
What’s the Recovery Like for Renuvion/J-Plasma Skin Resurfacing System?
As the skin heals from the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing treatment, patients will experience temporary side effects like skin peeling and redness. These side effects are expected to last for at least two weeks, but they should feel very mild and can be easily treated with over-the-counter pain medication. Some residual redness might last for up to six months, but this usually can be covered with makeup after 2 weeks. Overall, it takes a minimum of two weeks to recover from a Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing treatment.
How Does the Renuvion/J-Plasma Skin Resurfacing Work?
The Renuvion/J-Plasma procedure uses advanced plasma technology to resurface and rebuild the skin down to the cellular level. While other skin resurfacing devices use immense heat, the plasma coagulates the tissues without burning the skin. The Renuvion/J-Plasma energy beam essentially eliminates the outer layer of skin, removing blemishes, damaged skin, and finer signs of aging. Concurrently, the skin reacts to the “wound” by starting a healing “cascade” that stimulates collagen production and new skin cell growth. Gradually, the skin heals into a smoother, cleaner, and younger version of itself.
Unlike laser or light treatments, the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing uses an ionized helium plasma beam. This type of plasma beam allows for a more intricate level of control, and it operates at a fraction of the temperature of laser treatments. That means that the Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing is so efficient that it’s less likely to harm surrounding tissue, so patients can rest assured the treatment is as safe and efficient as a non-surgical treatment can be.
Is Renuvion/J-Plasma Skin Resurfacing Better than Surgery?
Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing can tighten sagging skin, but not to the degree that a surgical procedure can. Surgical procedures like the A-Lift can do wonders for physically lifting loose skin, but not all signs of aging have to do with skin elasticity; residual damage like sun spots, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles can’t be directly treated with a lift. If you do want to address drooping skin, patients always have the option of pairing their Renuvion/J-Plasma skin resurfacing procedure with a facelift.
