Tucson Cosmetics Microdermabrasion Treatment with Oxygen – Renew the appearance of your skin with our Microdermabrasion Treatment
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is an effective cosmetic treatment, used to reduce fine lines, crow’s feet, age spots, and acne scars. It stimulates the production of skin cells and collagen and has proven to be a very popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure.
Microdermabrasion is a painless substitute to abrasive chemical and laser treatments. This procedure does not require anesthesia, recuperation time, is relatively painless, involves nominal risk and is effective for all skin types.
Microdermabrasion Technique:
Microdermabrasion procedure uses a fine diamond tip to smoothen skin. The fine abrasive action of the crystals is coupled with vacuum suction to remove the dead outer layer of the skin bringing you a new, softer skin with a more even texture to the surface. Due to the precision of the procedure, Microdermabrasion is virtually pain-free.
The number of treatments recommended for maximal results can range between 5 and 12, spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart, with treatments taking from 30 minutes to an hour. To maintenance your results, treatments should be repeated periodically combined with the use of our take-home products. Microdermabrasion may be combined with a light chemical peel to increase the effect.

Glow’s Microdermabrasion Treatment
The length of the procedure varies depending on skin condition, treatment area, and the required outcome. On average, a treatment is completed in less than 30 minutes. The results of Microdermabrasion are visible following the first treatment. To achieve the best possible results combine our specially formulated Vitamin C Serum or Azulene Serum, right after the treatment. Or even add or Oxygen Facial to improve blood flow and circulation to the outer layer of your skin. The first .5mm of our skin is solely oxygenated by the atmosphere. So if you’re a smoker, you are also choking your skin!
Microdermabrasion is a process of physically removing just the outermost layer. The body interprets this as an injury and rushes to create new cells. The result is a fresh new look – the new skin is softer and smoother, and many of the surface imperfections are removed or minimized. Moisturizers also penetrate the skin far deeper than before, so with a little care, the new skin can be kept softer and more supple than would have been previously possible. At Glow, we use the DiamondTip system, a great improvement over the older abrasive based treatments. It guarantees you a pain-free experience.
For best results, several Microdermabrasion treatments over the course of a year are advised. There is very little discomfort (usually only for a few hours at most), virtually no side effects, and it works on all skin colors and types.
If you have a history of herpes simplex or cold sores around the mouth then let us know so we can give you preventative medication. Also if you have a history of Keloids, this procedure is contraindicated.
After Treatment:
A moisturizer is applied or a collagen mask to boost hydration. Since the dead cells are polished off the skin is more receptive to creams and topical treatments. Continue the application of moisturizer post-micro because exfoliation may occur. Redness generally resolves within hours after treatment, but you may experience a mild sunburn-like sensation for a couple of days. Sunscreen should be used liberally because sun sensitivity may be increased.
Follow-up care:
Effective microdermabrasion usually requires a series of 5-12 treatments. The series can be longer, especially with acne scarring. Initially, treatments are weekly or biweekly for several treatments, followed by monthly to biannually for maintenance treatments, depending on the patient.
Microdermabrasion is best for the patient with a busy lifestyle and superficial skin conditions. The number and frequency of treatments can be tailored to the individual patient, depending on the condition and desired result.
Microdermabrasion is not effective for deep wrinkles and scars or ice-pick acne scars because they extend into the deeper layers of the dermis. Also, microdermabrasion is not effective for pigmentary problems, such as melasma or postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, because this treatment does not address the dermis where these problems arise. Patients with these problems are best treated with more traditional resurfacing modalities, such as chemical peeling, dermabrasion, and laser resurfacing.
The advantages of rapid recovery and low risk make this treatment very popular. In patients with fine lines and early photoaging, microdermabrasion is an effective technique with little or no impact on lifestyle. The effectiveness of microdermabrasion is limited for deeper skin conditions, such as deep wrinkles and scars, which are currently best treated with other resurfacing techniques that we can discuss with you during your initial consultation.
Also try Glow’s Oxygen Facial after microdermabrasion. The skin will be more receptive to absorbing oxygen and rejuvenation once the superficial layer of dead skin cells are removed. Allowing for better absorption of both oxygen and products.
