Photo-Facials Restore An Even Tone and Smoothens Your Skin!
What is Photo Rejuvenation?
Photo Rejuvenation (IPL Photofacial) is a series of intense light pulses that are absorbed by abnormally enlarged vessels or pigmentation. RejuveLux™ light pulses heat the small capillaries that cause telangiectasia, rosacea, and other vascular lesions and blemishes. The heat shrinks these capillaries, which may redden or become gray after treatment. They then fade from view after approximately ten days. This process causes no damage to the skin. Photo Rejuvenation leads to the restoration of even-toned, smoother skin.
Should I consider Photo Rejuvenation?
If you are suffering from:
- Rosacea
- Flushing
- Age spots
- Sun-damaged skin
- Photo Aging
- Mild acne scars
- Large Pores
- Dark Circles around the eyes
- Fine lines
- Acne
Then this may be the treatment for you!
Frequency of Treatment
The number of IPL Photofacial treatments required varies from patient to patient. Significant improvements may be seen after 2 to 3 treatments, however, 6 treatments are normally recommended for the best possible results. Clients achieve a high level of satisfaction following treatment recommendations seeing from 70% to 90 % improvement toward more even-toned, smoother skin.
Are there side effects from Photo Facials?
Although side effects are rare it is recommended that before photo rejuvenation, exposure to the sun should be reduced several weeks before and after treatment. Treatment can affect capillaries making them more visible, pigmentation may appear darker and the skin may look flushed. These side effects would be visible directly following treatment and are temporary. Also, temporary swelling and/or blistering may occur but is very rare. You may experience redness and mild “sunburn”- like effect that may last a few hours to a few days.
Results
There will be a decrease in fine lines. Facial redness and prominent blood vessels are diminished. Pore size is minimized. Freckles are minimized. Skin tone and texture are improved!
Photo Rejuvenation and Rosacea
Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness and flushing of the skin.
Common Causes of Rosacea Include:
- Exposure to the sun
- Alcohol consumption
- Aging
- Stress
- Medication
Photo Rejuvenation treatment (IPL Photofacial) reduces the flushed appearance of the skin which minimizes the necessity for antibiotics and cortisone creams.
The Procedure
Treatment of the entire face takes about 30 minutes. Except for cleansing the skin, no preparation is necessary. Most clients find the procedure to be painless, but some do have a mild warming sensation. No anesthetic is required. Sunscreen is necessary following the procedure but there is typically no redness and no downtime. A cool compress may be applied to the area after treatment to soothe sensitive skin. Daily activities can be resumed immediately following a Photo Rejuvenation treatment.
While the effects of one treatment begin to be visible in a matter of days, the best results are obtained using a series of six treatments spaced at two week intervals.
