Avéli™ Long-Term Cellulite Reduction Procedure
Tucson Cosmetics in Tucson is excited to be one of the first to offer Avéli™ for a meaningful and lasting reduction in cellulite dimples¹.
What is cellulite? Why do I have cellulite?
Cellulite is a depression of any shape or size with defined edges seen on the surface of the skin, typically on the buttocks or thighs. A major underlying cause of cellulite are the fibrous bands that tether your skin to the structures below. These bands are called septa.² Some septa are good (and you want them as connective tethers), but others stiffen or shrink over time and lead to the dimples we see on the surface and call cellulite.²
It’s important to distinguish cellulite from other concerns like laxity or localized fat, which we can talk you through during a consultation in our office. You should also know that cellulite is not your fault (genetics and hormones play a role), and you are not alone – up to 90% of women have it!3
What is an Avéli™ cellulite reduction treatment?
Avéli™ is a no-nonsense approach to treating cellulite based on a deep understanding of women’s anatomy. While many treatments approach cellulite blindly from the outside-in, Avéli™ identifies and releases the primary structural cause of cellulite from the inside-out in a single minimally-invasive procedure with little downtime.²
How to reduce cellulite with Avéli™
Avéli™ is an option for a range of women across the cellulite severity spectrum. The procedure is performed by one of our trained providers and uses a handheld device to manually target and release the complicated web of septa bands causing cellulite dimples.²
Avéli™ addresses the primary structural cause of cellulite in 3 steps:
- Your provider guides the Avéli™ device under the skin directly to the targeted dimples.²
- After your provider identifies the culprit septa bands causing a dimple, those septa are precisely released.²
- Your provider can confirm their release in real-time, delivering visibly smoother skin quickly after the procedure.²,4

Dr. Rubbani is the first physician in Tucson to introduce a revolutionary new technology for the treatment of cellulite known as VaserSmooth™. For the 90% of women who have suffered from the appearance of cellulite, the wait for a “miracle” treatment is finally over thanks to this groundbreaking new procedure. VaserSmooth is a one-time treatment for the appearance of cellulite with long-lasting results.
The new VaserSmooth™, unlike existing cellulite treatments, is the only technology that treats the core problem of cellulite by releasing the fibrous bands of connective tissue and emulsifying fat cells that cause the skin to pucker giving that “orange peel” appearance of the skin known as cellulite. Once the fat cells are emulsified and the fibrous bands are cut the appearance of cellulite is diminished.
The VaserSmooth™ procedure begins by making a small incision – the width of a typical pencil eraser. Next, a numbing solution is administered beneath the skin. The VaserSmooth™ device, which uses ultrasound waves, emulsifies the fat cells and next the fibrous bands causing the appearance of cellulite are released. The VaserSmooth™ then delivers heat energy resulting in tighter, smoother skin and reducing that “cottage cheese” look. VASERSmooth™ is a handpiece that attaches to the VASER® LipoSelection technology to specifically target and even out the dimply appearance of cellulite. The probes selectively break up fatty tissue while preserving nerves and blood vessels. The fragmented edge of the probe can be used to remove individual septae that form cellulite and cause an unsightly dimpled skin appearance.
After the treatment, most patients can go back to work within the week and are required to wear a compression garment for 2 – 4 weeks. Initial results are noticeable in 1 month and continue to improve.
VASERSmooth™ versus Cellulaze
When compared to similar anti-cellulite technology called Cellulaze, VASERSmooth™ is quicker with less downtime and bruising.
